A Friendly Update for SoundTouch Users
If you own a Bose SoundTouch device, we have some important news. Bose has ended cloud support for SoundTouch products. This means some features will no longer work, but don’t worry your devices can still play music in new ways. Here’s what you need to know.
What’s Changed?
As of 6 May 2026, the SoundTouch app was updated. This new version lets you control your system without needing an internet connection. Here’s a quick look at what continues to work and what no longer functions:
What Still Works
- Streaming music via Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Spotify Connect.
- Setting up and configuring your system.
- Remote control features like Play, Pause, Skip, and Volume.
- Grouping multiple speakers together.
What No Longer Works
- Presets: You can’t use preset buttons or save new presets.
- Browsing or playing music services directly through the app.
- Stereo pairing for SoundTouch 10 devices.
- Alexa voice commands.
Important: Your SoundTouch system won’t receive any more security or software updates. Please use it on a secure network.
Keeping Your Music Alive
You can still enjoy your favourite music services! Here’s how:
- For platforms like TuneIn and Pandora, use their apps and stream audio to your SoundTouch system via Bluetooth or AirPlay.
- If you use Spotify, connect through the Spotify app by selecting your SoundTouch system in the Spotify Connect menu.
Reminder: Make a note of any playlists you had saved as presets. You’ll need to find those playlists in your music apps from now on.
